3D Unleashed utilizes the latest technology to ensure tooling is both accurate and appropriate for the job at hand.
Plastic Mould flow is an essential element of any injection moulding or extrusion design project. Before tooling production begins, 3D Unleashed uses Mould flow software to analyse the proposed design to ensure that the tool will be capable of producing the strongest, most uniform parts from each die or mould cavity, using the optimal processing parameters.
Using either a 3D Unleashed -generated or customer-supplied part design, a computer model of the tool is constructed.
The Mould flow software then uses this model and the processing characteristics of the specified polymer to predict how the polymer will flow through the tool.
This allows various key moulding or extrusion attributes, such as melt temperature, pressure profile or time-to-fill, to be studied and optimized “virtually” before the tool is built. Instead of being discovered during the initial tool trial, Mould flow points out potential tooling-related problems and allows them to be corrected prior to cutting steel. In this way, costly and time-consuming tooling rework is avoided.

After part and tooling design are complete, this information is transferred to our CAD/CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) system and the tooling is built to exacting international standards at our own facility. This continuity in the process ensures that tooling is built to the highest quality standards, resulting in the highest quality extruded plastics available.
